Community

“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”

Winston Churchill

At The Ministry of Chocolate we have a long standing commitment to charitable ventures and community involvement.

The Ministry of Chocolate is proudly Veteran owned and operated.  Drew has served in the Australian Army for 13 years.  He is the current serving president of Hawthorn RSL sub-branch and is dedicated to supporting veterans and their families.  He is also actively involved with Veterans For Fishing, creating opportunities for positive mental health outcomes and social interactions for veterans.

Our business actively supports MND Victoria and the Cancer Council Victoria among other charities, based on our personal life experiences.  We are a small business, and our impact may too be small.  However, no small act goes unnoticed and no small act is ever wasted.

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”

Barack Obama

“No one has ever become poor from giving.”

Anne Frank

Our May Gibbs licensed range of chocolates donates 9% of all retails sales and 7% of all wholesale sales to the Northcott Society and the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.

May Gibbs left a lasting legacy to thousands of children and adults with disability. Upon her death in 1969, May Gibbs left the copyright of all her works jointly to The NSW Society for Crippled Children (now known as Northcott) and the Spastic Centre of NSW (now known as Cerebral Palsy Alliance). The generosity of May Gibbs will continue to assist the works of these charitable organisations through the royalties on sales of May Gibbs books and associated products.
